Refresh only if there is an internet connection

  • I want the refresh function to be triggered ONLY when there is a live connection to the Internet. So, suppose I have set the refresh interval for a given page to 5 minutes. And suppose the internet connection is down when that interval is reached. In that case, the page should not refresh. Then, suppose the Internet connection comes back up, say, 4 minutes later. Then, at the 10 minute mark, I want the page to refresh.

    Is it possible to do this?

  • Interesting question. you just made me start doing tests on the refreshing properties.I thought each browser occurrence refreshed based on it’s own timing but it seems it’s a server timing that is causing the refresh. As you mentioned it seems the refreshing happens even though no one may be signed on to the page. My problem is, this is messing up my hit counter. I wanted to know how many times people are viewing my page but based on a refresh of every 10 minutes, I would have to reduce the count buy about 144 per day.
    6 months and no answer, not real promising.
