Hi, I’ve tested out the plugin and it works great in Contact Form 7! After some testing, the captcha doesn’t reset when a user makes an error. For example, a user enters all the input boxes, solves the captcha, but then they accidentally puts a letter (or some special character) in the telephone box. The user is then prompted to correct the issue but now the user is stuck in an “invalid captcha” limbo where the I am human box stays checked. The user doesn’t know that you have to do a whole page refresh to fix the issue.

Hi there, this is actually a user-supported open source plugin: you can see the repo at https://github.com/hCaptcha/hcaptcha-wordpress-plugin

All of the modules like Contact Form 7 were supplied by users who didn’t want to wait for other plugins to add native support, but the single best way to get hCaptcha is to email the plugin authors like Contact Form 7 to add hCaptcha natively; it will usually take them an hour or two at most.

Aside from that, we accept PRs and release new versions regularly.
