• I have recently encountered an issue transferring content from one page builder to another. My previous post apparently was apparently too specific and Jan Dembowski, one of WordPress monitors, took issue with it. Therefore, I will make the issue more general. Is there a plugin or method to translate content from one page builder to another, or can it only be done by manually cutting and pasting each element? I hope the monitors are satisfied with the way this question is posed. Any help would be appreciated.

Almost never. And certainly not easily.

Your site is quite small, so I would recommend copy and paste as your most efficient method. Remember you can use Tools –> Export for the content in your posts/blog.

Yup, that’s the method. When you use a page builder, you’re pretty much locked in to its way of doing things. See https://pippinsplugins.com/wordpress-page-builder-plugins-critical-review/ for a good discussion of this.

Thank you for your reply. I read through the link you provided. It was a very interesting read. While reading through it, I was reminded of the battle between BetaMax and VHS back in the 1980’s. VHS eventually won that battle and a valuable lesson was learned. When the compact disc was developed, Philips developed the player technology and Sony developed the disc technology. Philips gave the technology to all the other CD player manufacturers and thus created an industry wide standard that was used for more than 20 years until CD’s were replaced with digital streaming.

It seems that a great opportunity exists in the page builder industry for the same type of standardization. Since the link you sent me was written in 2016, which seems like a lifetime in tech, you would think that at least some progress would have been made. It seems not.

At least now I know that I that there are no alternatives so I don’t have to waste any more time searching for one. I am thankful that I discovered this issue while the site is still small. It will only take a few days to copy and paste my content to the new page builder. Thanks for replying and clarifying the issue.
