• hi

i am having this referrer prob and cant get rid of it.

Now, i used a different computer with ie, switched off the firewall (zonealarm) and followd the instructions to enable referrers given in the docs and wp still won’t let me edit anything.

I was starting to wonder – is there any way this needs to be fixed server side? Cause none of the instructions in the docs seem to help.

  • It’s not server side.
Can you post as much detail about your OS / browser / firewall / any norton stuff you’ve got….

    Hi

configuration at home (where i first encountered the prob):
    -XP
    -mozilla 1.7.x
    (about:config->
network.http.SendReferrer was set to 0,1,2 – none of it did the job)
-ZoneAlarm personal (did not find a privacy tab there which was suggested for changes in the docs so i switched it off – with no effect)
    – free-av antivirus detection

    tested at my office:
    XP
    ie6
    zonealarm
    etrust antivirus

again i switched off zonealarm and followd the instrucitons given in the docs for adding my site to the trusted ones

    no effect

it’s so weird and i am *so* frustrated cause wp looked exactly like the thing i wanted and i was just getting ready to add content, but now i cannot use it….:(

P.S.: i just went to opensourcecms.com and tested the wp demo installation and it would let me e.g. set toggle the visibility of a link, add a link and delete it – which does not work at my own site…its gettin stranger and stranger
