Referral Spam

  • Hello,

    Since a few days, ALL the traffic on my website is coming from referral spam, namely through a
    service provider “cjsc company er telecom samara” located in Samara, Russia.
    I currently have no logging of other sessions, not even my own, it’s all this russian provider!

    Can someone help me claryfing what is happening and how to solve this?
    I really hope my website is not under attack or something.

    Referral spam is actually just as pervasive as comment and email spam. Either there’s a bot going around leaving fake referrers, or visitors are using a browser extension/add-on which spoofs their referrer (either by design for money, or compromised by malware).

    Check with the support section for your stats plugin, as more than likely they have a way to filter out spam referrers.
