• I referenced one of my posts from another post and it left a comment on the first post containing part of the text from the new comment. I find this highly annoying, but suspect it’s some kind of normal feature.

    I would have searched for this before creating a new post, but I don’t know what to search for.

  • Search for ‘trackbacks’. That’s what those link-as-comments are called. Hope that helps.

    But aren’t they annoying and distracting? I thought the point was for the blogmaster to know who’s linking to them, not to clutter their comments field with things that aren’t comments. Is this behavior a good thing for some reason? What am I missing here?
