Referenced AMP URL is self-canonical AMP

Can you please share the screenshots of the Google search console which getting this error?

it seems like many are experiencing problems like me. (canonical).

@ahmedkaludi I found the cause of the problem.

There is conflict between Yoast SEO plugin and your AMP plugin.

Even I already set Yoast plugin in AMP settings, this error remains.

I tested same page by disabling Yoast SEO plugin and then canonical URL visibled correctly!

After re-enabling Yoast SEO plugin, canonical URL revert back to Self Canonical:

After updating your AMP plugin, today I got AMP error in Google search console.
It says “The “link rel = canonical” tag appears several times in the document.”
Error already applied for 10 posts in my blog, it’s growing continuously.
But some posts has no such issues.

@onlanka I have checked your website and found the self canonical AMP error is coming only on your one post – https://www.onlanka.com/news/over-50000-applications-for-korean-jobs.html/amp and rest of your posts are working fine, Are you changing canonical from that particular post?

Please read my last three replies, which clearly shows that if I disable Yoast plugin, No canonical problems!!

I already set Yoast in AMP settings but problem not solved.

We have tested the URLs which you have send us and yes you have the wrong canonical URL on those URLs but what I have notice is the canonical error is not there on your latest posts like https://www.onlanka.com/news/889-covid-19-cases-confirmed-in-sri-lanka.html/amp and https://www.onlanka.com/news/president-reviews-the-current-status-of-digital-id.html/amp etc,

Are you modifying any URL in the canonical section of the Yoast plugin on your previous posts?

@ahmedkaludi No I didn’t modify any URL (including new posts) manually.

All the posts posted with same settings.

@ahmedkaludi I fixed this issue!

What I did is find and replaced all the URLs ending with ‘/amp’ in the table named “wp_yoast_indexable” in wordpress database.

Now its ok ??
