Can get separate BuddyPress installations on multiple sites with your plugin.
However so far i am unable to get multiple NETWORKS with your plugin.
Fully appreciate it may relate to my limited capability rather than to anything else.
As far as it goes I understand “multi-network” to be the creation of multiple multi-site networks within a single WP installation.
For example – mainsite.com (& with all the others just one instance of WP,BP,bbP etc etc)
mainsite.com could have its own BP installation
support.mainsite.com
accounts.mainsite.com
jobs.mainsite.kom
newyork.mainsite.com could have its own BP installation
toys.newyork.mainsite.com
fashion.newyork.mainsite.com
books.newyork.mainsite.com
yankees.newyork.mainsite.com
london.mainsite.com could have its own BP installation
toys.london.mainsite.com
fashion.london.mainsite.com
books.london.mainsite.com
arsenal.london.mainsite.com
paris.mainsite.com could have its own BP installation
toys.paris.mainsite.com
fashion.paris.mainsite.com
books.paris.mainsite.com
lalouvre.paris.mainsite.com
sydney.mainsite.com could have its own BP installation
toys.sydney.mainsite.com
fashion.sydney.mainsite.com
books.sydney.mainsite.com
operahouse.sydney.mainsite.com
etc etc & on to hundreds of networks if say that was desired one for each country/subsidiary/electoral area/division or such like.
Now I have successfully set up local multi-network installations on these lines including, within these separate networks, their own separate BuddyPress & bbPress instances for each network and these installations are in current use.
The plugin configuration: I favor:- Networks + ( but WPMN also works) + BP Multi Network
(I am familiar with BuddyDev/Brajesh’s plugin but do not use it)
So Using either Networks + ( Version: 0.2.3.2 https://github.com/rrennick/networks-plus/archive/master.zip a plugin developed by Ron Rennick) or WP-Multi-Network ( Version: 2.4 https://github.com/stuttter/wp-multi-network/archive/master.zip – a plugin developed by jjj John James Jacoby & others) together with BP Multi Network ( Version: 2 https://github.com/JJJ/bp-multi-network/archive/master.zip also developed by the BuddyPress Community – mostly Ron Rennick & JJJ)
I have no “developer” experience or capabilities. However I think it is generally recognised in the WP community that both of the above are the equivalent of Ninja GrandMasters at this kinda stuff & to date have been hugely helpful, kind, supportive, and encouraging to WP enthusiasts & frankly are very unlikely to leave ‘broken’ stuff out there for any length of time.
Now there may well be some tweaks needed but overall i think the configuration I use is working well.
I’d really appreciate very much if you (when you have the time) could put up a few simple instructions on how to actually set up Networks with your plugin.
It really is great to now have somebody taking a new look at this extraordinary powerful (and i believe under-utilized) feature of WordPress and who hopefully will bring it on further in the coming years.
