How would you envision this working? You can use a Redux select box with WP data for menu to select the menu, but displaying menus can be so very different for each and every theme. On top of that menu walkers and shortcodes are not permitted in theme code, it must be placed in plugins.

One of the main issues is honestly, we don’t want to limit where people can use the framework. So unless there’s an idea that I haven’t listed I’m not sure if we’ll be too keen on doing it. I hope that makes sense!

oh yes, i think i get it. I meant yes the option menus are still placed in plugins and themes. But would it be possible to have the options menu also be available in a custom page php file to be displayed as a page on the frontend in case a developer prefers to have clients to only have frontend access? hope you understand what i’m trying to envision

Hmm, interesting idea. Probably still outside of the scope or Redux though. I don’t exactly see how it would be useful, but it’s an interesting idea!

yea there are some clients that still find the wordpress backend intimidating/confusing, and would only need to access simple options. So just by custom creating a simple frontend option menu for those clients would make things a lot easier. Right now there is a plugin that does it via iframe, but its really slow.

Ohhh, you mean like a front-end panel, not an actual “menu” builder.

Yea I have contemplated that. I am thinking of doing it. But it’s almost into the world of a form.

ya just a frontend panel. A form? do you mean you’d have to recreate the options menu like a form to make that happen?
