• Hello !

Among the products I sell, I have postcards for sale (20 different photos). Image 1, image 2, etc -> image 20. I want the customer to be able to choose the postcards he wants (e.g.: 3 postcards from image 2, 5 from image 7, etc.). When the customer gets to 10 postcards, he gets a discount. If he gets to 20, he gets a bigger discount, etc.). He can also choose 24 postcards or 36, etc. From 1 to 9 postcards there is no discount (only if 10 postcards). The following example is perhaps more telling: He chooses 15 postcards; he therefore gets a 10% discount on the 10 postcards and no discount on the next 5.

I use WPC composite for my postcard products. One component containing my 20 postcards (different images) or I also tried 20 components for each image). I have tried many plugins for price reductions, etc… But the result is always the same.

But these software (or even the composite WPC) always make me the same mistakes: If my client chooses for example 10 of image 1, 7 of image 4 and 3 of image 9, we arrive at 20 postcards right?

Well, it only makes the discount on image 1 (10 postcards) and not on the package which has 20 postcards).

In fact the reduction is only made in relation to each product and not on the package (the component I think).

Honestly I have tested many plugins and nothing to do! I do not want it to make the reduction on the basket because I sell other products that do not have a reduction.

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi @indicana35 ,

If you would like to offer discounts for increasing quantity levels of subproducts such as 10, 20, 30 with increasing discounts, it’s impossible with our plugin.

The quantity-based discount can only be applied to the main product, not subproducts inside.

If you would like to create offers like that, you will need to create a different composite for each quantity level.

    For example:

    • Composite 1: include 20 images, with Custom quantity enabled, Total Min=Max=10, Discount: 10% in the composite settings.
    • Composite 2: include 20 images, with Custom quantity enabled, Total Min=Max=20, Discount: 20% in the composite settings.
    • Composite 3: include 20 images, with Custom quantity enabled, Total Min=Max=30, Discount: 30% in the composite settings.

Then use this plugin WPC Linked Variation to link these composites together on the same page as if they are variations of a parent variable products.

You can learn more about how to link different products using common attributes with this plugin here: https://doc.wpclever.net/wpclv/

Then when customers click to choose a corresponding quantity or discount they want, for example: Composite of 10, the second plugin will take them to the corresponding composite.

These composites will stay separate and you can sell your products without the needs to concern about pricing and discounts on the cart page. It’s just that you will need to install an extra plugin to link these composite together.

    Best regards.

    Dear @janilyn409

Thank you very much for your help.

This solution seems very good to me but just a small problem : I fear that we will see on my page several times the same images (I have discounts of 10%, 20% and 30% without counting the pack of 1 to 9 images which has no reduction.

This is what I had done at the very beginning and my page was filled with postcards (x 4).

Nevertheless, I will still try this solution and I will come back to you to tell you.

    Thanks again !!!

    Hello again @janilyn409

This is what I was looking for so a big thank you!!!

But.. and yes, there is a “but” unfortunately…

that’s what I feared : we see 2 components : I did the test on 2 components but I have 4 discounts (so, we will see 4 on the page …).

I would have liked to see only one component and as soon as the customer chooses 10, the 10% discount is done. If he chooses 20, the 20% discount is done, etc.. and if he chooses 15 the 10% discount is done on 10 and for the other 5, no discount.

Can the WPC Linked Variation plugin do it or do I have to download another one?

Thanks again in advance for your answer.

    Hi @indicana35 ,

To be honest, it is difficult to achieve that with our plugin since the options in each components must be preselected so the final discount can be applied.

Maybe you can try this: assign 1 product as the Default product for each component so that when the composite is loaded, all components seem to be filled with options so the discount can be shown at the same time. This can be the only workaround for that.

    Best regards.
