    hi

anyone experienced this? my initial compression quality was 92 but i decided to give 80 a try to save more space.

Upon completion, the amount of mb saved decreased. Is there a bug?

By the way, the quality setting affects both jpeg and png?

    thanks!

    Hi @confusedkoala,

    Thanks for using our plugin.
A compression with a quality factor of 80 will produce (only JPG) smaller files.

By optimizing for the 1st time your Media Library, the overall library will increase its size. This is due to a copy of the original file which is preserved. This is a security feature, but, several users asked us to have the possibility to delete this backup file, we’re working on it ??

Anyway, for your visitors, your pictures will be lighter with a 80 factor than with a 92 factor.

Hope it’s clearer for you !
Do not hesitate to rate us, it’s our only reward ??

    Cheers,
    Charles
