    Hi,

I’m trying to change the price of a product within an order.
The problem is that the difference between the old and new price is shown as a coupon.

How can I change the price without a coupon being displayed ?

    Hi @cvdbfgnhmjfds,

If I understand correctly you’re trying to change the price of a product within an order, but it seems that you’re changing the total (not the price) and applying a discount, like here:

Once a customer placed an order and agreed to a price for the product, you can’t really change that price, it could even lead to legal consequences so this is why WooCommerce does not allow doing that by default.

Nevertheless, you can reach out to a WooExpert if you need any help with customizations: https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

    Thanks.

    Hi,
Yes I’m changing the total because I can’t change the price.

It is not that the customer has initiated the order.
I have created the order for the customer.
And since another price was agreed upon, I should also be able to enter it.

    Thanks.

Are you able to edit “Before discount”? – it should be editable although it’s grayed out and looks like it cannot be changed. If you make your change in the Before discount price (not the total), a coupon discount will not appear in the statement.

    Hi @maykato
Unfortunately there is no “Before discount” field.

There is only a field “Vor Steuern”, which means “Before taxes”.

    Hi @cvdbfgnhmjfds,

Thanks for getting back. It seems that your display is a bit different on that order screen. Just to check, from the Plugins → All plugins page, which WooCommerce version do you have?

    You’d mentioned:

..the difference between the old and new price is shown as a coupon.

Is it possible to share with us a longer screenshot that includes this coupon part? I ask because when I reduce the total price of an item in an order, the new price is shown. Further, the old price is no longer shown. Thus, I’m thinking you might have added a coupon to your order.

    Thanks.

    Hi @abwaita,

    It’s Woocommerce: 5.7.1

I’ve attached a video, where you can see what happens when I change the price.

    Thanks

Thank you for sharing the video. What happens if you edit “Vor Steuern?”

    Hi @maykato,

    I can’t edit it, it’s grayed out.

    Hi @cvdbfgnhmjfds

As I can’t reproduce the issue on my test site, I believe your theme or another plugin you are using is preventing it from editing.

To determine what’s causing the issue, please temporarily switch your theme back to Storefront and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. If that resolves the issue, then re-enable plugins one-by-one until you find the one that’s causing it.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/
