Reduce the FCP and LCP load time on this theme?

  • Hello, I was told by my site support that I need to contact the theme developer in order to reduce the LCP and FCP measures on my site.

    Google has recently introduced something called Core Web Vitals which measures the LCP and FCP on a website.
    These measurements will affect rankings going forward and it is crucial for me to reduce the loading time for both these measurements.

    Is there any solution for this?

    I appreciate the help.

    Hi @michelissa,

    I don’t have any current plans on doing major speed optimizations to Baskerville, or my other older themes. If it’s a major consideration, I’d recommend you to switch to a different theme (or, alternatively, hire a developer to help you with the optimizations in a child theme).
