They’re older themes that haven’t been updated in a while, but if he has issues with it, then asking here for help is perfectly appropriate.

MarkEmbrey: Is this the theme you’re having trouble with? Or is it one you got from elsewhere? If you purchased the theme from a theme shop, then you should really contact that vendor and ask them for help with it.

Themes older than 2 years don’t show up in search results.

It’s just generally better to ask the person to tell you where they got the theme first. Then you can refer them to the right place for help, such as a support forum on the theme authors site, perhaps.
