Reduce size featured event in list view

    Hi,

    Featured events in list view appear much (MUCH) bigger than regular events, particularly because of the image. On my website, Featured events take as much as three times the space of other events in list view: https://www.fleamapket.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/featured-events.png (which is way too much).

    How can I modify the code to make Featured events the same size as regular events in list view (they can keep a coloured background though)? I tried the “inspect element” function of my web browser, but I could not identify the code that requires to be customized.

    Hey there, nikkoboy.

    Have you looked into our Themer’s Guide?

    It requires a little more work than just adding a snippet of CSS to your site, but it allows you to customize pretty much every portion of The Events Calendar. What you’re looking to edit is the List View -> Featured Event template.

    You could probably copy a lot of code from the List View -> Single Event template and go from there.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for the help! I greatly appreciate. I looked for “Featured Event template” but it doesn’t appear in the list. Has the name changed?

    Also, I have to admit that my knowledge of coding is quite limited… and what might requires 15 minutes for a coder to achieve, will probably take me half a day. I have to honestly say that the way featured event are currently highlighted in TEC is not very aesthetic. It could look way better ??

    Ah. You’re right. It’s not listed on that page. Look for this file:
    list/single-featured.php

    That should be the correct file. Let us know how things work out for you.
