Reduce Masthead Height in TwentyFifteen?

  • I want to modify TwentyFifteen using a child theme. My model is the CBS TV phone app.

    The main thing I want to copy from the CBS app layout is the reduced height of the collapsed masthead, leaving more room below for the slider and subsequent content.

    I’ve got the new child theme files (style.css and functions.php) placed into a new child theme directory, and everything works fine so far. I haven’t made any CSS modifications yet. I think I just need some pointers on the CSS?
