Reduce header depth and padding around logo in header?

  • Hi there,
    I have a few questions about the header settings.

    1) Is there a way of reducing the padding around the logo in the header?
    2) Is there a way of manually adjusting header depth? I tried using the extended header setting but it did not seem to make a difference.
    3) Is it possible to add text as well as a logo in the header?

    Hey Clementine,

    I’ll go over the questions in the same order:

    1). There’s no back-end setting for that at the moment, but you can add this snippet to the “Additional CSS” tab of the Customizer:
    .logo { padding: 10px 0 !important; }
    adjusting the “10” bit to whichever padding (in pixels) you need.

    2). Could you please clarify what you mean by “header depth”? Thanks!

    3). At the moment the logo area can either contain an image (the custom logo) or the site title, as text, in case no custom logo has been set. You can add text as part of the menu (just put “#” instead of the link URL in the menu item settings), but in that case it’ll appear on the right side of the header.

    Hi Andri, that’s really helpful, thank you.

    By header depth, I mean, I want the header to be shorter. It comes down too far on the page at the moment, I would like it to be smaller. Can you please tell me how to adjust that?

    Thank you! The page is https://www.maisiek.org.au/test and the password is HeySatori

    I would like the header to be about half the depth that it currently is, just a thin strip across the top.
