    Hello!

In my website, people pay to top up their account balance (wallet). So it isn’t Pay as You Go.

And their account balance is what I receive, and as you know better PayPal takes some fees on transactions, and that fee is a loss for me as my profit margin is too low and that fee is too high for my business model. Also my members are OK to pay the fee and their account balance receive after fee total receive.

So how can i handle this? to fee be on my customers (payers) , not me

    Hello @ahmirof

It’s a bit difficult to provide a precise answer without understanding the exact mechanism behind your use case. Let’s start by gathering more information through a system report, as we need additional details to properly address your case.

Please follow these steps to share your system status report with us:

    1. Navigate to the WooCommerce / Status section in your site’s admin panel.
    2. Click on the Get system report button and then click Copy for support.
    3. Paste the report into our PrivateBin.
    4. After uploading, please share the link here so we can review the details thoroughly.

Once we have a clearer picture of your system’s state and the specific circumstances, we can offer better guidance on how to handle this.

    Kind Regards,

    Krystian

    Hi @inpsydekrystian

actually my point is not much technical to need reports.

    so let’s explain it again,

Commonly people use woocommerce to sell products, customers select a product pay with a payment gateway like PayPal and done. And PayPal reduce a transaction fee from total received amount. So it’s like the seller is paying that paypal transaction fee.

in my case I am using woocommerce wallet plugin, that means instead of a product ,people pay to add fund to their wallet. Everything is same as selling a product, but actually they are adding their money to a wallet.

and my point is just about PayPal transaction fee which it takes from all transaction with or without plug-in.

In a website that sell a product they can manage all fees and taxes and everything and add it to final price. But in my case they don’t buy anything, they just adding a custom amount of money to their wallet, so we don’t have any final price to add these fees to it.

so I’m asking, is it possible to add just that total received fund to my members account? Or can add a estimated fixed fee (~%5) to all payments by paypal ? So in this way members are responsible about the paypal transaction fee, not me as a seller, and they receive funds based on my total received money

    Hello @ahmirof

Thank you for your message, and I understand your concern.

Unfortunately, we may not be able to assist you directly with this request. It’s important to note that according to the PayPal User Agreement, passing the PayPal transaction fees to your customers is not allowed. Specifically, the agreement states:

“You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.”

With this in mind, you’ll need to ensure that any additional fees or surcharges you apply comply with PayPal’s policies. Theoretically, adding a handling fee could be possible as long as it is applied equally across other payment methods as well, not just PayPal.

The most straightforward solution that comes to mind is creating an additional handling fee or a “top-up fee” for wallet funding. Any other approach, such as deducting the PayPal fees from the final amount credited to the user’s wallet, would likely require custom development or coding.

If you are unsure whether your specific approach complies with PayPal’s policies, we recommend reviewing the PayPal user agreement in detail or consulting PayPal support directly.

    Kind Regards,
