Reduce excerpt when sharing

To replace that automated excerpt by a custom message, you can use the Publicize custom message box appearing right above the Publish button. The message you enter there will replace the default excerpt appearing above the post preview on Facebook.

P.S.: It’s worth noting that we reply to every thread from the oldest to the newest. Every time you bump a thread, it goes back to the bottom of the queue, so I’d recommend against it.

No worries! You can bump if you’d like. It’s just that instead of receiving answers faster, that will have the opposite effect: your messages will be read by forum volunteers later, or might be even be ignored altogether, as the thread doesn’t appear as “unanswered” anymore. That’s why I’d recommend against it ??

You can add just about anything in that custom message box. It ca be an excerpt as well.

There is unfortunately no way to do this programatically right now. That’s on our radar, though. You can follow our progress here:
