• Ever since the 4.2.3 update, my login page redirects to a broken https page. Also, the www-version of my site is doing the same. The non-www version works fine.

  • I’ve experienced the same problem on several of the sites I maintain. I’m about to try downgrading one to 4.2.2 to see if that solves the issue for now.

Let me know if that ends up working for you. Thanks!

Same issue without updating: stylesheet and JS are using HTTPS instead of HTTP now, for unlogged users only…

OK, try switching browsers to the basic one shipped (Safari, IE, or Firefox).

You should probably get your CSS back, at least.

You should also be able to log in now, if you were not able to before.

Go to your plugins and deactivate all commerce-related plugins. Most likely candidate is WooCommerce.

Make sure to clear your cache, before trying to log back in on the original browser.

This worked for me. Now I can use the website normally (and it displays with CSS and all!) in Chrome.

What I know so far: Google Chrome and probably Firefox, as of the latest update, are redirecting many if not all websites to the https version. In order to use a commerce-related plugin, you need an SSL certificate anyway. Maybe the latest update to WordPress re-activated WooCommerce, or it might have been activated all along, and Chrome/Firefox are suddenly force-redirecting all websites with these identifiers.

Here’s where I got the hint:

Same issue. Disabling WooCommerce at-least lets the site load the CSS but doesnt solve the https redirect issue. We are down until a patch is released! https://www.oakridgebbq.com

Make sure to clear your cache, too. I wiped all my stored site data before trying to log back in on the original browser.

oakridgebbq: maybe this problem is not wp related. try reinstalling chrome.

I’ve encountered this issue a few weeks ago, not only the sites I maintain were tried to redirect me to https, but all the themeforest links, this is were I realized that it’s chrome fault.

recimester: if the bug is in chrome 44, how is reinstalling it going to solve anything? The suspect version of chrome, Version 44.0.2403.89, was released yesterday, yet these problems didnt arise until after the wordpress 4.2.3 auto update which was applied this morning.

Ok I was able to access the site just fine and login using Safari. I don’t have any commerce-related plugins though.

I cleared my cache using the TotalCache plugin but that didn’t do anything.

oakridgebbq: i use 64 bit dev version of chrome, and it had this issue about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I don’t understand the logic either why it solved the problem, but it do solved it. But as it solved another bug come to life, and now my chrome doesn’t remember my passwords anymore, but this is offtopic.

I’m having the same problem. My whole WooCommerce site is down for some chrome users!
    Is there a quickfix solution?

Someone resolved updating WooCommerce, I’m going to try…
