Redirection problem

  • Hi, I really need some help because I′m totally lost. Using a plugin for redirecting (redirecting list) I believe I have created 19 redirections from the home to the /es page. I don′t know where these redirections are. It′s the home page so it is very important to solve it and I ve no idea. The hosting is NGIX if this is important…I ve already written in the plugin forum but I dont know if I will get an answer from there

  • I get a ‘too many redirections’ error.

    Kill all the redirects… if you can then do so from the plugin since it appears you can get into admin else I’d disable that plugin and figure out where the redirects are… Maybe they are in htaccess and possibly in the page headers.

    It’s possible your redirect plugin uses hooks into the core also. Killing (disabling) the plugin should stop the redirects in that case.

    Check everything carefully then do one redirect… if you can get that one working then go from there.

    But I’m wondering about ‘the why’ here. If you want the site in a different language then just convert to that language. There’s plenty of good translation solutions leaving your site available in the language(s) you wish to support.

    Hi, thank you so much for your answer. I had already deleted the pluggins but apparently they did some changes that are remaining. I ve no idea what to do.
    The why of this is that I changed the language setting from get parameter to directory and I redirected the old spanish pages to the new one using a pluggin. I don′t know it also redirected the home in english….
