Redirection

  • If I enable redirection, in what cases will a redirect be written?

    (Since the plugin renames files, not sure why a redirect would be needed.)

    Hi @jmueller0823,
    if you enable redirections, a redirection will be created every time you reneme a file (the free plugin Redirection is required).

    Usually you don’t need to create redirections for renamed files, because those files are embedded into pages or posts and those are automatically updated, but if you let your site address directly your media file (exposing their URLs) a redirection is helpful to avoid 404 errors caused by external links.
