Redirecting URL’s after move

I am considering moving all of my blog posts from https://www.chrisgonyea.com/blog/ to https://chrisgonyea.com/. I understand that sites that currently link to my posts won’t get broken links if I write some stuff into htaaccess in order to redirect the soon to be old URL’s to the new ones.
So basically I want an URL like this one:
https://www.chrisgonyea.com/blog/archives/2004/12/05/wp-13-alpha-experiment/
To be redirected to this URL when I do make the move:
https://chrisgonyea.com/archives/2004/12/05/wp-13-alpha-experiment/
My question is what code do I put into htaaccess in order to get this to work.
