    Hi there —

First time post, so thanks for the help!

I’ve got a blog underway at https://www.gw-1.com/blog. However, I’d like to use https://blog.gw-1.com as my primary link.

The subdomain redirected fine until I installed wordpress, now when I hit the subdomain it kicks me back to my home page (also under construction).

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks again,

    Grant

  • In most cases it is a problem with that “redirect”. WP doesn’t like it…
Can’t you create a subdomain that is NOT redirected anywhere? Installing WP in such no-redirected “real” subdomains should work.

    Hi Moshu,

Thanks for the reply. Just to make sure that I’m following you, the typical setup with my host is to point the subdomain to a folder under the root level. Thus, blog.gw-1.com would point to gw-1.com/blog.

Is this a “real” subdomain or the sort of redirect that WP doesn’t like?

    Thanks,

    Grant

    Good news —

Removed and replaced the subdomain and now it works. Don’t know why, but I’m not complaining either…

    Thanks!

    g.
