Redirecting after registration

Hello,
The users of our log-in are being confused by the procession of pages in the plug-in.
We have recently launched our site and have many new users registering at the moment, most of whom are not very “tech-savvy”. After entering the necessary information and hitting register, they are being immediately redirected to the main log-in without any notice. This is causing an issue because after registration, verification of email is necessary to log-in ore reset the password, but they are not being notified of this necessity and instead are trying to register again with new emails.
So would it be possible to have a message pop up after registration notifying new users to check the email? For example, after they put in their information and hit register, a message pops up saying “registration is not complete! please check your email and verify your email address to complete registration” instead of just rerouting back to the main log-in page.
