Hi I’m trying to redirect my old domain to my new domain but every time I put my new domain main in the “Redirect URL” field and click save the “Redirect URL” field comes back empty with a “settings saved” success message.

Am I doing this wrong? Am I supposed to put my old url in the redirect URL field? The URL I’m putting into my redirect field is the main URL for the new site.

@chadthedev I’m not sure what your old/new domains are, but the plugin has a built-in safety mechanism where it clears out the value you tried to save if the URL is the same as the URL of your site.

In other words, if you try to redirect the website back to itself it would result in an infinite redirect loop. The plugin prevents you from doing this.

If this doesn’t appear to be the issue if you have more details on your specific case I could better help you.

I am also experiencing this when trying to redirect to a non-subdomain variant of my site. For example plugin is installed on foo.domain.com to redirect to domain.com, but when saving the field is empty.

This plugin is fantastic, it would be great to have this as an option.

Thanks, @ollydowning, I’ll do some testing given your use case.

    Hello,
Having the same issue, trying to redirect a subdomain to domain…
https://bli.blabla.com to https://blabla.com does not work, it says “saved” but everything is empty.

And it works just fine with the rest. BTW, excellent plugin.

The latest version (1.2.7) should resolve this for you.
