• I use Polylang on a website to make it available in four different languages. The website will use Dutch as primary language. We have set Dutch as the default language in WordPress and we also have the Dutch language as order 0 inside the Polylang settings page (the Dutch language inside Polylang settings page has a star marker beside it).

When I am visiting the https://zeester.com I am redirected to https://zeester.com/de. Allthough in Chrome, my default language is Dutch, and second language is English. When I manually change the language to dutch, restart the browser, the language is automatically redirected to german again.

This problem has been there for a year now. I checked with the theme developer, but he forwarded me to Polylang.

Could you help me out please? It’s a real pain ??

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi, here are just a few thoughts on this:

    – what is your PLL url modification setting ? Remember, when you choose “by content”, the language is determined by content. Post all *PLL* settings here !
    – are there translations of the homepage for *all* languages ?
    – switch temporarily to an uncostomized theme and check the behaviour again.
    – check your browser PLL language cookie and delete it before you hit the page initially.

    regards, jayhall
