Hi! Some time ago social media “VK” has changed something, and now when your bots check links from VK, then there is a redirect to mobile version shown in your plugin’s options (I use a local version of your plugin).

So, the link https://vk.com/findbooks shows a redirect to https://m.vk.com/findbooks (with a 200 server response).

It didn’t happen before, and rechecking the links doesn’t help. So I wonder, if something can be done, so the links won’t redirect to mobile version after your bots check them?

    Hello @giorgos93

Hope you are doing well today.

I ran some tests using the shared links it appears the desktop version of VK has some limitations for IPs and locations since when I send a request using Postman got a 404 error.

I’m afraid there is not much we can do about it on our end when a website is blocking the bot requests, best solution is to add those links to the ignore list.

    Kind Regards
    Amin

Hi, @wpmudev-support2 . Sorry for late response.

So, if the link will be added to ignore list, then I won’t know, if it’ll become broken (404 response)? Or it will be shown even for ignored link?

    Hello @giorgos93

When you add a link to the ignore list, it means you have manually checked the link and confirmed that it is not broken, and the Broken Link Checker will no longer monitor that link.

Currently, the Broken Link Checker cannot access VK links, this is the only solution available.

    Kind Regards,
    Amin

Is it possible to add an option to ignore all types of link status, unless it’s 404 response?

    Hi @giorgos93

That will be possible only in the Local version by using the Exclusion list where you can type the domain name in this case.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris
