Redirect to any page in “HELLO” theme does not work.

    Redirect to any page in “HELLO” theme does not work.

    If tried another 404 redirect plugin “Smart Custom 404 error page [404page]” which redirects correctly.

    I thought you might want to know. I like the simplicity of your plug in and the log function.

    So, maybe you want to have a look at it and fix it.

  • Thanks for advising this I will test.

    Can you confirm which ‘HELLO’ theme – as there are no less than 10 HELLO themes – I can guess HELLO ELEMENTOR – but that would be a guess

    I have just tested with a clean install of HELLO (ELEMENTOR) and no other plugins and the plugin works fine.

    Can you advise other plugins you have? Did you try troubleshooting without other plugins activated?

    Yes it’s Elementor’s HELLO.

    I’ve deactivated ALL plugins except Elementor and I get the blue image below. Without Elementor its the white screen below. Ah, upload is disabled. Will download image to website and give you the url.

    Thanks, I loaded elementor couldn’t get it to not work. What is you exact settings for the plugin?

    I looked at your site and it looks like its is redirecting before WordPress loads. What is the content of your .htaccess file?

    Inspecting further you page seems to be generated by

    error404 elementor-default elementor-kit-5

    I wander what elementor kit is?

    It’s a plugin which adds functions to Elementor.

    I tested with that too and couldn’t get the plugin to not work. So I’m at a loss as to why it does not work in your set up. I’m not sure what else I can suggest.

    Well, thanks for your efforts. I think WP, as so many other software, try to be a little bit to clever and try to do everything for everybody instead of sticking to the “KEEP IT SIMPLE” principle. I’ve seen it many times in my life people try to prove how clever they’re by making things over complicated. How did we ever run multi user systems on 64k for each user on minicomputers? and had a faster response time than now? I suppose most people don’t remember this. I’ve had a classic last week when somebody ask me why on one of my sites the thumbnails are so small. The site was originally done 22 years ago when we only had 56kb modems to connect to the internet. That was when we tried to reduce code and images to an absolute minimum to make things work ?? Now we ask users all the time to buy faster and bigger equipment to suite the bad software.

    Anyway. enough of that. thanks for your effort and keep up the good work.
