Redirect problem after registering

Just confirmed your challenge by submitting info to register at your site. Have you tried deactivating the plugins you have that are adding the captcha action and the “Connect with:” (social media services) in order to see if the default WordPress registration also causes this challenge?

Yes, I did. The captcha plugin is recaptcha, used by thousands of people out there. It’s been on my blog since the beginning.

The social media connect plugin is “Social Login” which I’ve been using for more than week without any problems.

It was all working fine until recently. I don’t know what changed. I can’t think of any plugin or recent changes that could have caused such a behavior.

Yeah, I wasn’t attempting to indicate that the plugin used by thousands was the culprit, simply trying to find a troubleshooting “halfpoint” to know which way to move as we worked to getting you a solution.

More to the point, however, you just never know how one plugin or theme will interact with another. And since you didn’t indicate you had turned everything off in your attempts to solve, I felt it prudent to ask.

I agree that it seems strange that with no changes things suddenly started going awry. So, even with all the plugins deactivated, the lost password link shows up? Hmmm.

I did a quick search of the support forum posts for the Lightword theme you are using and nothing there regarding this sort of challenge. I’m sure you already switched to the default WordPress theme and tested to see if this challenge still exists (can’t imagine the theme being responsible, but sometimes stuff in the functions.php file mess about with working things, you know!)

Used the “Redirection” plugin to redirect users from https://www.site.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword&error=invalidkey&checkemail=registered
to
https://www.site.com/wp-login.php?&checkemail=registered
