    Hi there,

We have a client who sells antiques and they’d like any products they archive to stop being indexed.

I think with the updated version of the plugin when a product is archived if you try and view it not logged in it shows a 404 page which is great as previously people were finding what were meant to be archived products.

In an ideal world any product that gets archived it would be great if it can be redirected back to the main shop page not a 404 page.

The reason being, when they sell an item the buyers don’t typically like people to be able to see it on-line.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

The behaviour of the plugin has not changed between the versions. The way archived posts, products etc are handled is set in settings (now under settings->reading)

So you can either have them publicly visible (but not in the loop) or not.

There is no option to redirect to a specific page though if non publicly visible is set. But I’m curious why you’d want this. It would a soft 404 which is bad for SEO. Maybe a better approach would be enhance the 404 page so it has useful content on it. There are many plugins yo achieve that

If you want it to do this though I’d consider it a feature request, rather than support. This forum is for support, the plugins faq details my preferred way of handling feature requests
