    My permalink structure is /blog/%postname%/

The CPT full path is domain/blog/locations/%postname%/

When I use Permalink Manager to remove /blog/ from the URL the page goes into a redirect loop from the original URL to the Permalink Manager URL. Redirect header shows Permalink Manager.

When I go to the Regenerate/Reset tool is shows the old and new URI’s as opposite what they should be.

Here is the debug data https://imgur.com/a/9AhdTWs

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

    Hi @wormacer08,

Could you possibly send me the additional screenshots with inbuilt permalink settings (Settings -> Permalinks) and Permastructure settings (Tools -> Permalink Manager -> Permastructures)?

    Edit:
To make it working, please change the Permastructure settings for “Location” post type to:

     locations/%postname%

Then to apply that format to the CPT items, make sure that “Preview mode” is not checked when using “Regenerate/reset” tool.

    Best regards,
    Maciej

Thanks! To supplement what I wrote above, please remove the “blog/” substring here before running “Regenerate/reset” tool:

I’ve done as suggested but continue to have the same redirect loop sadly.

I created a new test “location” and it shows the new permastructure but still has the redirect loop.

Is there additional debug data or tests I can provide to help solve this? Thanks!

Please send me once again screenshot with your current Permastructures settings + one more screenshot showing the whole “Regenerate/reset” screen with the selected settings and the list of displayed items (after the tool is used).

    Hi @wormacer08,

Thank you! All the settings seem to be absolutely correct. Could you check if the new custom permalinks are stored inside “Debug” section?

If the contents of “Array with URIs” is empty, there is a chance that the record was malformed in the DB. You can try to recreate it by clicking on “Remove all custom permalinks” link and then regenerating the custom permalink once again using “Regenerate/reset” tool.

I will give it a try and report back. Thanks again!

I’ve tried to recreating the records without success sadly.

The behavior seems to be due WP itself? I deactivated PM and put a redirect in my .htaccess and get the same redirect loop behavior but there are no redirect headers.

Permalink Manager seems to work with other post types and pages on my site.

I’m not sure what the next step should be.
