• I’ve checked the htaccess file to see if it has changed, changed the chosen home page to another page, clicked ‘save’ again on the permalinks page… and then I went through the plugins, pinning it down to this one as the cause.

It used to work fine. My theory is that WooCommerce is now too new for the plugin. All other pages seem fine, it is just the home page that goes into a redirect loop.

Could you please take some time to look into it?

    Cheers

  • Ah ha!!!! SO FRUSTRATED I just discovered this too. Have been troubleshooting this issue for days, then finally spent an hour disabling all plugins and then re-enabling them one at a time.

Our website kept generating a redirect loop error ONLY for the home page. All other sub pages worked fine, except for the root of the website. After disabling the WooCommerce Archive Customizer plugin, our website began loading properly again.

After narrowing down the issue, I did a Google search for “WooCommerce Archive Customizer redirect” and found your thread along with many others complaining about the same thing. I would have never imagined this plugin would be the culprit as it has nothing to do with how a web page loads! (I was expecting it to be a “coming soon” plugin or something that alters the htaccess file).

Running the latest version of WooCommerce on WordPress 4. I suspect that you’re right about the plugin being too old to support the latest version of WooCommerce.

I’m surprised that there’s been no response to your post or some of the others I found mentioning the same thing, but it’s definitely this plugin…

Yea, that ‘re-enabling each plugin’ trick comes in quite handy ??

I am not surprised that there’s been no response. Like so many threads, developers read it, and then forgot about it, without even acknowledging that they are aware or seen the report. I cannot see @jameskoster or anyone else fixing it, anytime soon.

Are you setting the shop page as the homepage to cause this?

I can’t remember what the setting(s) was/were now, plus I am not on that project anymore. @geminiman7?

I just gave this a quick test and was unable to replicate the issue which makes it tricky to debug ?? Hopefully someone can provide more information.

FYI I maintain these plugins in my spare time which is pretty limited. I apologise for any tardiness but you can always contribute fixes on GitHub ??

Understood, any time spent is appreciated by those affected, seeing it is a free product.

Some devs never fix bugs in apps that are in public use, and it is a sin, especially as sometimes it is out of the range for someone to begin to know how to code a fix ??

@jameskoster no I am not setting the shop page as the homepage, BUT there is a store component that loads on all of the pages (there’s a “Your Cart/Checkout” bar at the very top of every web page).

Unfortunately that’s all the info I can provide right now. Do you need to know the theme name? If so it’s Marine from ThemeForest.net..

@geminiman7 Could you try switching themes temporarily?

I don’t like to jump to conclusions but the majority of ThemeForest themes I encounter are horribly built and generally suffer badly from code-bloat. I wouldn’t be surprised if the issue is related to the theme.
