I was attempting to resurrect a website.

I use Firefox and when I go to the website I get this error:

“Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.”

I have cleared my cache, cleared my cookies, made sure my cookies are enabled, etc… and I still can’t get to the site from any computer (or browser, doesn’t work for IE or Safari, either) I’ve tried.

I can get to the log in page of my site, the https://mysitename.com/wp-admin.

It won’t let me log in, though. I enter my name and password and nothing happens. When I try to have my password reset, again, nothing happens. When I click the “Log In” or “Get New Password” buttons it’s as if the page just refreshes and that’s all. I have changed my password through phpMyAdmin and that didn’t help.

I have also deleted the .htaccess file, all the plug in files, overwrote everything in my directory but the wp-contents folder…

I’m at my wit’s end. What else can I do so I can gain access to my site again?

And, note, I honestly have no idea what my WP version is… The last time I accessed this site was in Jan 2010 so I would have updated to whatever the most recent version was at that time.

    Thanks in advance!! ??

Thanks, Mods, for deleting the conversation started after the initial post. Now my quest for help can be buried in obscurity as no one will see it ever again! Awesome job. Gold star!

If you can’t/aren’t willing to help can someone at least point me in the direction of someone in WordPress that can? Is there some way to submit an actual support ticket?
