Redirect and login problem

I was attempting to move a blog from one URL to another on the same server. I carefully followed all of the instructions but when trying to import the database I got one error after another. I thought I would try to “fall back” and manually move the content over in that there wasn’t much.

I had made two backups per the instructions. A backup before I made any changes, and a backup after I did the change in the URLS in the settings.

Although I restored the backup from before any changes were made, it won’t let me log in or it redirects to the new site, as if the redirect file wasn’t overwritten.

I have WP running on both domains and want to manually copy each blog over but I can’t get into the original site and also it kind find the second page. The new site doesn’t have a second page, so maybe it is trying to find the second page on the new site, i don’t know.

How do i get the original site to ignore the redirect which it shouldn’t be doing anyway. I suspect a file with the redirect was created that the restore is not overwriting which is confusing things
