• Hi.

I installed wordpress under a subdomain (wp.domain1.com), and at General Settings, I put the site URL to “domain2.com”, in order to redirect it for my other domain. At domain1 root I have another WP installed, and working perfectly.

My issues is with this redirect to domain2.

How I should write the htaccess file? Pls, if anyone can post the entire code, because I used so many of them, and nothing works.

I can’t use the permalinks, always with erros at permalink.php (line 133) and misc.php (line 170).

    Many thanks.

  • What is each installation’s path?

    Are their paths something like
    /public_html/installation1/
    /public_html/installation2/
    -or-
    /public_html/installation1/
    /public_html/installation1/installation2/
    ??

If your sub-domain is a server sub-domain, you should have the first example and would assign and point that second domain name from the server.

If your sub-domain is a sub-domain of your first installation, you can get to it by simply going to mydomain.com/subdomain/ if that is its path. However, it might be possible to do that with htaccess for the first set of paths and I will try to help with that after knowing how many domain names you have and your actual paths.

    Hi, leejosepho, nive you replied.

There is only one installation, at subdomain.domain1.com.
The domain2.com is just a domain, no install for it. Just a mask domain.

So where is the mistake in this case?

The domain2.com is just a domain, no install for it. Just a mask domain.

Assign it to the same location as domain1 (which I think you have already done), then use cPanel to write a wildcard redirect to domain1.com. Your WordPress installation can only accept one.
