redirect after registration not working

Hello, I have a register form that should redirect the users to a page after registering.
On the “SEND” button I’ve tried both the “page” and the “redirect” options but both return a 404 page and the URL in the address bar is like this : https://mysite.com/?page_id=3122&redirect_to=https://mysite.com/thanksforregistering/

Any idea why ?
I’ve checked the permalinks and they’re good.
