Redirect 410

Please note that Google treats the 410 errors the same as the 404 errors and can report them as 404 errors in GSC.

The 410 status code informs them that the URL no longer exists, but they can still show it as 404 in the indexing report: https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/7471925/google-is-not-showing-410-headers-keeps-saying-urls-have-a-404-status?hl=en

Is this bad or good? Because these urls really don’t exist anymore. If I do 301 redirect, bots will crawl these urls. I don’t want them to crawl.

This is completely normal. Google may see it as 404 despite having a 410 return code. Google will still remove the URLs from indexing.

To ensure that this URL is no longer crawlable, make sure that the URL is not present in your sitemap or anywhere in your website content as an internal link.
