Redesign

  • I am redesigning a company website and created a test.example.com site to use. I copied all the ‘web’ folder to the test site, but do not see any of the pages or media in the wp-admin.

    How do I point my test site to the ‘web’ folder correctly?

  • Is the old site in WordPress.

    If it is the theme is present in wp-content/themes/

    yes. the old site uses a wordpress theme. I think it’s a matter of pointing a file to the new content folder, but I’m not sure how to do this.

    WordPress has three components:

    WordPress core files (packaged with wordpress installation)
    Wordpress Content (Editable and Customizable, includes Themes and Plugins)
    Wordpress Database (Has all the data that your site feeds and breeds upon)
