Redeem Gift Card on Pending Order

  • Hi,

    Sometimes a payment fails and an order is left in a state of “Pending Payment”. These orders normally appear in “My Account”->”Orders” and the customer can press the “Pay” button to try another form of payment.

    When an order is in this state and the customer presses “Pay” from “My Account” there is no options to redeem a Gift Card at that screen.

    Is this an options that I have missed? Or is it functionality I can add with a hook?

    hope you are doing well! ??

    Unfortunately, by default WooCommerce doesn’t allow to add coupons on this payment page, so we can’t use them to add the gift cards. It neither has a hook where we could try to add the default field from the plugin to redeem the gift card, sorry.

    Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

    I understand that without a suitable hook it wouldn’t be possible.

    Maybe it would be possible to offer redemption via something that mimics a WooCommerce Payment Gateway instead of using the coupon functionality?

    Or maybe there is a way for the store owner to use the “edit order” page in the admin console to redeem a specific gift card against the order? Would that be possible? Or even on the “edit gift card” page?

    I know it is possible to the store owner to manually reduce the value of the card and then set the order as paid but that doesn’t then show the order number the card was used against in the “My Account” screen.
