Reddit video embed

    From what I can tell, it seems like Reddit has a whitelist of oEmbed providers, and that list only includes the big, trusted sites like YouTube. You could try enabling “Change oEmbed to video instead of WordPress default photo/excerpt” on the Videopack settings page in the General tab, Plugin Settings / Video sharing. Open Graph tags might be used to embed a video in some cases. You can turn on “Enable Facebook Open Graph video tags” and see if that does anything.

    Either way you’d post a link to a video that has a Videopack video embedded in it, and see what happens.

    Wow! thanks a lot for the detailed answer! ?? If I would find a 2-3 social media platforms that would allow me to embed these videos…

    You might be able to make Twitter/X cards work. They deleted their card validator tool, which used to be their system to request whitelisting. I can’t tell if everything is just allowed now. It’s possible that if you’ve enabled Twitter Cards in Videopack, X might make a Card if you post a link with a Videopack video in it. I know videos on my site work, but I got whitelisted many years ago.
