I duplicated a form that I used last year and updated it. When I insert the short link into the page where I want the form link, it shows with a red dotted box around the link text. When I click the link in Preview, I get a blank page with: about:blank#blocked. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Other WPForm links work fine.

  • Hi @daknecht,

I am sorry to hear about the odd issue you are facing here!

When you get the chance, would you mind sending a screenshot of the shortlink configured along with the form URL?

Thanks, and please let us know ??

I solved the problem, but I am not sure I understand if this is expected behavior or not. I had set up the link on the refering page using the URL link that WP Forms generated. I set it to open that link in a new tab. The solution was to create a new blank page, insert the table reference there and set the link to that page.

Hi @daknecht – thanks for the heads up and we are glad to know that the issue has been resolved.

However, I am not quite sure about the initial setup that was causing the issue. Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the initial confusion?

I am marking this thread as resolved for now but I am happy to help you with the confusion.

    Thanks,

I used the Embed choice and copied the shortcode from “use a shortcode” and then put that in the link box of the page where I wanted it. I set the link to open in a new tab. I am guessing that the Embed shortcode doesn’t work that way? I would add a screenshot but not sure how to do that in this forum. Dave

Hi @daknecht – thank you for your patience here!

Did you mean you were adding the the link within the shortcode here:
[wpforms id="10" title="false"]— If yes, adding any code to this shortcode won’t work.

In case it helps, and you want to open the redirect in a new window, please refer to this developer guide.

Also, you can share the screenshot using this online tool.

    Thanks,
