Greetings – after searching WP support, it appears others have run into this where lightspeed cache causes page rendering issues, presumably failing on CSS. A simple slider page and info box w/icon image on several pages, all blow up after a few hours. Added all relevant page CSS to exclude and no change. Go to pre-cache view, looks fine – purge all, looks fine – then hours later, problem reverts.

Disabling lightspeed plugin resolves the issue. Thoughts?

  • Ditto. I’ve been having this issue for a while now. Mis-rendering of css when litespeed cache is enabled.

I like the plugin, however this is the stuff of nightmares guys. Eg.

    mysite.com misrenders

mysite.com/?cache=0 renders fine even with LSC enabled.

I’ve eliminated every other possibility. It’s definitely your plugin guys.

NB: To debug LiteSpeedCache CSS Optimization settings add this parameter to your URL:

    https://mysite.com/?LSCWP_CTRL=before_optm

This will show you the site without the plugin optimizations…

Switch to a Basic Preset OP. Advanced Preset doesn’t render CSS properly ATM. Basic works and has most of the essential features.

@grumpywp please provide a report number. This can be generated from LSC -> Toolbox -> Reports -> Click on “Send to LiteSpeed”

    Thank you!

Ok, reenabled the plugin, and after about an hour or so, the problems started again. Just pulled the report – will disable again so the site works.

@grumpywp your settings seems that most of the optimizations are off.
I see you added some css exclusion and activated the setting https://docs.litespeedtech.com/lscache/lscwp/pageopt/#js-combine-external-and-inline
Try disabling it, clear cache and test the site on incognito page.
With these few settings off the site should work fine.

I don’t know how familiar are you with what caching and optimization but I can help you with some pages that will help you create a good optimization: https://docs.litespeedtech.com/lscache/lscwp/troubleshoot/ and https://docs.litespeedtech.com/lscache/lscwp/ts-optimize/

Do you have a way to create a stage site and test different settings there?

Thanks. I’m not familiar with the caching, which is why I tried following some basic trouble shooting steps referred to me previously.

I can setup a different test site, but I’ve excluded the CSS to no avail. I’ve tried 3-4 different PC browsers and mobile browsers, as well as incognito mode etc. For brute force, I was dumping all stored items in one of the browsers each time to see if that made a difference. It did not. Each time, the site works for several hours then fails again – the only remedy is to disable the Lightspeed plugin. Then – it works without issue. I’ll be happy to review the materials.

Well, I guess you can close this thread. I simply turned the plugin back on, changing no settings or anything in optimization (was waiting for the issue to occur again) but… it hasn’t. *cough*

Going on 24hrs now and it is still working properly, with the same (2) excludes I had in from originally trouble shooting. So, I’m at a loss – but it appears to be working correctly now, desktop browsers, mobile browsers etc.

Thanks for the support – I’ll check back if it happens again.

Thanks for the additional detail – will be mindful. @dbee78

Unfortunately, the problem came back after a couple hours after writing it was resolved.

using the /?LSCWP_CTRL=before_optm as a check, shows the site working fine, normal URL without options it’s a mess again. This time, however, the slider is still working and it’s just the icons blowing up the pages. Meh

If you switch to Essential Preset will this fix the problems?

    (@grumpywp)

Will let you know, have reverted to just essential preset.

    (@grumpywp)

Ok, so that’s a no. Problem persists even with essentials preset used. Disabling the plugin until I can find time to troubleshoot. Meh.
