Recurring event not being created

I’ve created an event that reoccurs every day for seven days. After the first day, the next day’s event isn’t created and the original event is marked as expired. My understanding is that cron will automatically expire the original event and create a new event?

It doesn’t matter how I setup recurring events, they never are created automatically. I can manually create duplicates, but don’t want to enable that option. I need to have cron manage the expiry and creation of recurring events.

Cron is enabled in my wp-config and running.
