Recurring Event display issue

    We are using Events Calendar Pro, running Divi 4.7.7 with child theme on WordPress 5.6.

    On our site we have a mix of one-time and recurring events and didn’t have an issue till recently. In events/settings/general I have selected ‘show only the first instance of each recurring event’, which always worked well, showing the first instance in list calendars but all instances in the monthly calendar.

    Recently that has become broken: our main calendar stopped showing event recurrences. Presently I’ve disabled the ‘show first instance only’ option to address this, but now our list calendars are cluttered with recurrences. The problem seems to correspond with the Events Calendar 5.3.1 update. I appreciate any guidance!
