Hello there,

I have discovered that recovery does not work if you open your Cart Abandonment link from a mobile phone. It says that the cart is empty or it says that the session is expired.

However, opening it from a PC works as expected.

That is the case with 6 websites I am testing this plugin with. I will leave here one website I am currently building so you can test this by yourself.

On the website I shared I set Cart abandoned cut-off time to 10 minutes, which is minimum required by your plugin and then I set email triggering to 2 minutes one after another, so you can test it properly.

Also, this variable: {{cart.unsubscribe}} does not work if you use it as a URL. I mean in cases like this: Some text

Thanks.

Hello @mladja11,

1. I have tried to abandon cart on mobile device, will check and update you.
2. The ‘{{cart.unsubscribe}}’ shortcode itself generates the hyperlink, so placing it inside another hyperlink wont work.

Hope this helps.

Hello @mladja11,

This is to update you that I have received the recovery email, please refer to this screenshot.

Good. Did you try to open the recovery link?

I am also receiving emails, but when I want to open that Cart Abandonment link, nothing happens. I am not seeing my cart, I am seeing that the session is expired.

Hello @mladja11,

I tried opening the link and it is showing an empty cart, Just to confirm have you checked for a plugin conflict? If not please disable all other plugins except WooCommerce, Cart Abandonment, and SMTP plugins and create an abandoned cart on mobile and see how it goes.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I did not do a plugin conflict test because opening the link from a PC works just fine. Only mobile devices are having this issue.

Should I really do a plugin conflict test?

Hello @mladja11,

Thanks for writing back

Adding products in the cart is not dependent on screen size. It must be a plugin conflict. Please check for a plugin conflict.

Please disable all other plugins except WooCommerce, Cart Abandonment, and SMTP plugins and create an abandoned cart and see how it goes.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I am trying to do this on a staging website, but it just does not record carts from some reason.

Only Woocommerce and your plugin are on. The plugin is configured correctly, everything is set, SMTP is OK…

I do not know… I am confused.

Could you please tell me how I could send you access to that staging, so you can check it properly?

Thanks.

Hello @mladja11,

WordPress forum guidelines do not allow to share website access on the forum.

I have discussed this issue with our developers and they have confirmed that desktop -or- mobile there is no difference in creating abandon cart link.

Please share a screen recording of your cart abandonment settings and we will try to replicate the same on our test website.

Best regards,

It is strange, but it does not work on staging websites. I was trying to figure it out for days now…

Today I discovered that it has something to do with accounts. If you are a logged user, than everything is fine. If you are not, it behaves like described above for mobile phones.

So, it actually has nothing to do with mobile devices, but with accounts. The fact is, I was not logged in on my phone when I opened cart recovery link, and I was logged in on my PC. That is what is happening here.

Does this ring any bells?

I tried to open a freshly generated link on an unlogged device and it did not work on that first opening.

I will continue testing things here.

Hello @mladja11,

Thanks for sharing this information with us, I will forward this information to our developers.

I decided to sacrifice one customer abandoned cart and I opened that customer’s Checkout Link in a private window.

What happened is it loaded all customer information in the checkout fields and one second later it displayed that session expired error and the cart was emptied.

Then I went to the backend to check that abandoned cart I used for the test, and the cart was gone from there. It was lost.

I am now curious to know if you are experiencing the same at your testing websites?

The point is this recovery link should be working in any conditions, no meter what. So different user accounts, browsers, IP addresses, devices, etc. should not be an obstacle.

For instance, if I am shopping on my PC and then I got distracted and I did not finish my purchase. I should be able later to finish the job using my phone or my PC in the office. That would be the best UX.

I still do not know if this is an issue I only have or it is like this for everybody, cos I still did not make your plugin work on my staging, but I want to share my findings just in case this is a “global” thing.

I will continue posting here if I figure out something else.

Hello @mladja11,

I need to discuss this with our developers, please allow me one day, once they are back after the week off, I will discuss and update you.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation.

Hello?@mladja11,

I am one of the developers of the cart abandonment plugin. After reading the above thread, I suspect the WooCommerce account settings you set on your store. In order to access the checkout page for the non-logged-in user, you have to enable the guest checkout then the non-logged-in user can see the checkout page.

Refer here for guest checkout settings: https://woocommerce.com/document/cashier-for-woocommerce/how-do-i-enable-guest-checkout/

For confirmation, Cart abandonment & email recovery has nothing to do with device size, browser, IP, etc.

Please do check the WooCommerce account settings and let us know how it goes. We are happy to help you.

If you still facing the same issue. Please check the below post.

Hi @cartflows,

Thanks for joining in.

Well, yes, that makes sense, but I am allowing guest checkout. So, an user can place an order regardless of having an account or not.

Also these settings you shared are related to Cashier. I am not using that.

I did not notice that Chartflows is actually the author of the plugin. ?? How bizarre… This could be solved like a week ago.

I will contact you over your website and share a staging, cos, I am also considering to buy something else from you, but I will not close this yet, just in case we find out something important together. Something worth sharing with the community.
