    Hello,

I need to recover at least the username for the WordPress site i am now in charge. The site is https://www.moryason.com
I am the admin of the website now, BUT
The problem is that i cannot get to the https://www.moryason.com/wp-admin page, i mean i cannot get through the login page because i do not know which login the previous webmaster used. And of course the previous webmaster simply disappeared, so all this information on non-recoverable on this side.
I can prove that i am the admin of the site now, how can i get to the WordPress management interface for my site, how can i log in to the wp-admin part ?
    Thank you in advance !

  • Do you have access to the database? Usually through Cpanel on the host end.

As @darongeorge asked if you have access to DB, then you may Check/Change Username in database:
    – Username is also stored in the users table. To change username, click the edit button (the pencil icon) next to your user and change what is entered into the user_login field.

I do have access to the cpanel, but when i enter the users registered for the database, in “MySQL Databases”, these users/passwords won’t work to log into the wp-admin page.

I found the wp_users table in the database, tried changing the existing users or adding some, but i still cannot log in with these users into wp-admin.
Is the user_pass field indeed the field for the password ?

    Thank you

Oh i think i solved the issue, thank you for the support !
I had to add or modify the existing users in the wp_users table, especially had to change the email, and then do the “forgot password” thing with the new email or the existing user to create a new password.
