recover from backup not working

  • - WP & NextGEN both up to date, no NG upgrade
- MySQL 5.5.x, PHP 5.4.x, mod_rewrite activated, php safe mode - irrelevant since php 5.4.x
- localhost, my own theme (for testing using Twenty Ten), activated only NextGEN
- browser cache cleared

    The “recover from backup” feature is not working. “Backup original images” is enabled. It gives this error:

    ID 32: A failure occurred
    [more]
    File do not exists

    Neither have I found any “backup” files inside /wordpress/wp-content/gallery/…

    There are just folders with galleries and inside the files with “thumbs” subfolder, nothing more.
