• Sorry for the delay but it was about a month ago when I noticed this stopped working! I have the following info I need emailed to me, but [email] no longer displays…

    "[full_name]" <[email]> updated their profile on [date]

    The following don’t work either: [id] and [private_id]

    Hope you can help as always!
    Em x

    Well, without knowing what changed to make it stop working, I can’t say. These things are working, haven’t had any other reports of trouble with this, so there’s no bug in the code that I know of.

    Hi Roland, no changes were made, I just noticed it stopped outputting the email field. I have now removed the <> and it works, but I needed them in to copy the whole lot to email them and add them to my Gmail contacts! Hope that makes sense!

    You can try using the entity codes instead of the literal characters. You’ll need to remove the spaces because I can’t type in entity codes here:

    & lt;
    $ gt;

    Tried that but when I save, it replaces them with <> again!

    Ahhh WordPress…it’s not as smart as it thinks it is. It’s scrubbing those out.

    OK, try this workaround: first go to the advanced settings tab and uncheck “Send HTML Email” then go and edit your email message. Save it, then go back to the advanced tab and check HTML emails again, then save the settings. It won’t scrub out those characters, but if you try to save the email message again, it will scrub then out then.

    I’m afraid that doesn’t work either. Unfortunately WP does still scrub out the characters. Thanks anyway, I can live without it, just wonder what might have made it change in the first place as it used to work well x

    Well, another thing you can try is to turn off the WordPress auto formatting, but that might have other undesirable effects on any rich-text field displays.

    Hi, I’ve also been experiencing the same problem as this.
    On both the new sign up email confirmations (the one to the person who has signed up and the one that notifies yourself of a new sign up) the fields are not pulling through. HOWEVER, on the email that tells you a change has been made to an existing sign up, they do pull through?

    This is actually a different problem, best to post a new thread for this.

    I will say you need to look very closely at your email templates, make sure your tags (with the brackets) are correct.
