My jetpack expired so my site was disconnected for a few days before I renewed, but my site never reconnected, so I uninstalled jetpack and tried to reconnect it but my site is no longer appearing in my admin tab. Is there a way to get it back?

  • I’m experiencing a similar issue, but my Jetpack wasn’t expired. It stopped connecting to WordPress and when I went through the troubleshooting steps and tried disconnecting then reconnecting Jetpack, it wouldn’t let me reconnect and my site disappeared from my admin tab on WordPress. It came back after I tried to reconnect Jetpack several times and it finally reconnected. However, Jetpack is still not connecting to my WordPress and I’m afraid to disconnect it again given what happened last time.

    Hi @melissastetten

I see you have a paid plan, so you’re entitled to email support which is generally much fast than through these forum. When signed into WordPress.com, look for the question mark inside a circle in the upper right of your dashboard, click that, then click “Still Need Help?” and select the email option. That way we have access to your plan information as well as more on your site and will be in a better position to help.

    Hi @mealsbymavis

Could you please start your own thread, as per the Forum Welcome guidelines?

When you do so, can you also provide the URL of your site?

    Thank you!

Sorry about that, @bruceallen. I’ll start my own thread.

    No worries @mealsbymavis.

@melissastetten I’ve just looked more closely at your site, and it looks like you’re trying to switch hosts to WordPress.com. Is that correct?

If that’s correct, please follow the steps @bruceallen described. Otherwise, if you’re retaining your current host and still need help with getting Jetpack reconnected on your site, let us know.

Right now, I can’t access the site. I’m getting a ERR_SSL_UNRECOGNIZED_NAME_ALERT browser error.

I wasn’t trying to switch hosts, but I followed the steps to reconnect Jetpack, and I tried adding the site back and it ended up adding a whole new WordPress site “mysitenamecom.wordpress.com” so I have no idea what’s going on.

Ah, I see. In that case, it’s probably best to contact your host for help getting the site back up.

Once the site is accessible, feel free to get back in touch with us and we’ll assist with the Jetpack connection issues as best as we can.
